EVA Air Purchases 18 Airbus A350-1000s and 15 A321neo

Taiwanese airline EVA Air has confirmed a major purchase agreement with Airbus, acquiring 18 A350-1000 aircraft and 15 single aisle A321neo. This move positions EVA Air as a significant player in long-haul aviation with the A350-1000, and enhances their regional fleet with the A321neo.

EVA Air's President, Clay Sun, emphasized the selection's focus on modern, fuel-efficient models that align with the airline's sustainability goals. The A350-1000, known for setting high standards in long-range flights, will offer an enhanced in-flight experience, while the A321neo will boost efficiency in regional operations.

Clay Sun, President of EVA Air said: “We have selected the Airbus aircraft following a thorough evaluation of the various models in each market segment. In both size categories we have selected the most modern and fuel efficient types, that offer the highest levels of passenger comfort. The aircraft also bring significant reductions in carbon emissions, which is in line with our company’s sustainability goals. For long-range operations the A350-1000 sets new standards in its class and will allow us to offer our passengers the best possible in-flight experience.”

Airbus EVP Sales, Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, recognized this order as a milestone in Airbus-EVA Air relations, highlighting the A350-1000's role as a leading option for replacing older widebody aircraft. The A350's design, notable for its range, payload, fuel efficiency, and passenger comfort, contributes significantly to reducing carbon emissions.

The A350, available in the -900 and -1000 variants, is celebrated for its capacity and long-range capabilities. Equipped with advanced Rolls-Royce engines, it offers up to 9,700 nautical miles range with 25% less fuel consumption and carbon emissions than previous models. Passengers benefit from the quietest cabin, modern lighting, in-flight connectivity, and reduced cabin pressure for enhanced comfort.

With over 1,000 firm orders from 60 customers globally, the A350 Family is a prevalent choice in long-haul aviation. The A321neo, part of the A320neo Family, has garnered over 5,600 orders since 2016, capturing around 65% of its market segment. Its latest technologies, including new generation engines and Sharklets, enable a 20% reduction in fuel consumption.
