Air Serbia Achieves Record Passenger Numbers

In a significant milestone, Air Serbia reported carrying 372,638 passengers on scheduled and charter flights in May 2024, reflecting an impressive 11% growth compared to the same month last year. This achievement marks the best May performance for the airline since its inception in 2013. From its operational bases at Belgrade, Niš, and Kraljevo airports, Air Serbia conducted 3,869 flights during the month, representing a 4% year-over-year increase.

Boško Rupić, General Manager Commercial and Strategy at Air Serbia, highlighted the airline’s ongoing success: “Since the start of the year, we have carried close to 1.5 million passengers on flights to European and global destinations in our network. After a very successful April, we continued with the same pace in May, when we carried over 300,000 passengers and operated over 3,000 flights for the second month in a row. The results achieved further motivate us to continue working on improving our services to provide our passengers with an even better experience.”

The airline’s most frequented destinations in May included major Western European cities such as Zurich, Paris, Milan, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt. In the regional sector, Podgorica and Tivat were highly favored. Additionally, the broader Euro-Mediterranean zone saw strong passenger numbers to Istanbul, Athens, and Larnaca.

Air Serbia's robust performance underscores its growing influence and reliability in the aviation sector, indicating a successful trajectory towards expanding its reach and enhancing passenger satisfaction. This upward trend is poised to continue, driven by the airline’s commitment to service improvement and strategic network expansion.
