Qatar Airways

In a strategic move poised to redefine air travel connectivity and passenger experience in India, Qatar Airways has officially announced the relocation of its operations from Dabolim Airport (GOI) in South Goa to the newly inaugurated Manohar International Airport (GOX) in North Goa, effective from 20 June 2024. This pivotal shift not only marks a significant milestone in the airline's operational expansion but also underscores its commitment to providing passengers with unparalleled service and convenience.

Since its inception in Goa in 2009, Qatar Airways has been at the forefront of connecting the vibrant state of Goa with its extensive network spanning over 170 destinations worldwide. The transition to Manohar International Airport is set to further elevate the airline’s service offerings, leveraging GOX's advanced infrastructure and strategic location. The daily flights to Doha will continue as scheduled, utilizing the state-of-the-art Airbus 320 and Boeing 787 aircraft, ensuring a seamless travel experience for both business and leisure passengers.

The Manohar International Airport emerges as a beacon of modernity and efficiency, promising to significantly enhance the passenger journey with its cutting-edge facilities and close proximity to key hotels and public transportation networks. Its sophisticated design, which harmoniously blends contemporary elements with the traditional Goan architectural ethos, reflects the region's rich cultural heritage while promising an airport experience like no other.

Joining Qatar Airways in this new chapter are strategic partners such as IndiGo and Oman Air, further bolstering GOX's position as a central hub in the aviation sector. The airport's cargo capabilities, highlighted by a 25,000 metric tonne temperature-controlled handling capacity, are set to transform North Goa into a pivotal export hub, thereby stimulating the local and regional economy.

Qatar Airways' expansion in India is a testament to its enduring partnership with the country, currently operating flights to 13 Indian cities. This move to Manohar International Airport not only reinforces the airline’s dedication to enhancing connectivity but also aligns with its vision of fostering growth and development within the aviation industry. As Qatar Airways embarks on this new journey, passengers can look forward to a superior travel experience, reflecting the airline's commitment to excellence and innovation.
