Etihad Airways Expands Flights in Middle East and India

Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, is enhancing its service offerings in response to growing customer demand. In a significant expansion of its flight schedule, the airline has increased its weekly departures by nearly 27% compared to last summer, strengthening its connectivity across the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent.

The airline has announced increased flights to several key destinations. This includes additional services to Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, Amman in Jordan, Beirut in Lebanon, as well as expanded flights to Colombo in Sri Lanka, and to Kolkata and Bangalore in India. These increased frequencies underscore Etihad's commitment to providing flexible and convenient travel options for its passengers.

This expansion is part of Etihad's broader strategy to enhance Abu Dhabi’s global reach. By boosting flight frequencies, Etihad aims to offer more flexible travel options and facilitate seamless connections through Abu Dhabi's strategic location.

Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, emphasized the importance of this expansion. He noted that the increased flights are aligned with the airline's aim to offer practical and seamless connections at Abu Dhabi, enhancing the global network and enriching the travel experience for guests. The expansion also makes Abu Dhabi an even more attractive stopover or visit destination, integrating it as a crucial part of travelers' journeys.

The schedule updates include significant increases in flight frequencies to several destinations, starting at various dates in 2024. For instance, Jeddah and Riyadh will see an addition of 7 flights per week each, starting March 15, 2024, bringing the total to 28 weekly flights to these cities. Similarly, Amman, Beirut, Colombo, Kolkata, and Bangalore will also witness an increase in weekly flights, enhancing connectivity and offering more choices to passengers traveling to these regions.

In addition to the frequency increases, Etihad Airways has also announced new routes, including services to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram, starting January 1, 2024, as well as to Boston, Nairobi, and other global destinations throughout the year.

The expansion of Etihad Airways' network reflects the airline's agile response to the evolving travel demands and its commitment to providing world-class services. With these enhancements, Etihad Airways continues to strengthen its position as a leading global carrier, offering a wider range of destinations and travel options to its customers.
