American Airlines Debuts Direct Flights from Brisbane to Dallas

American Airlines

In a landmark move for international travel, American Airlines is set to inaugurate its first-ever direct flight service from Brisbane (BNE), Australia, to Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW), Texas, on October 27. This new route marks a significant expansion in American Airlines' global network, particularly enhancing the travel dynamics between the Asia Pacific region and North America.

The introduction of this service is timely, responding to the increasing demand for travel between the Asia Pacific and North America. American Airlines' new route to Australia is poised to offer unparalleled adventure and connectivity for travelers heading from Down Under, allowing them to explore the vast landscapes of the United States, Canada, Europe, and Latin America with ease. DFW stands as a crucial hub in American's network, facilitating seamless connections to a variety of destinations, from the sunny beaches of Miami to the vibrant culture of Sao Paolo.

José Freig, Vice President of International Operations at American Airlines, expressed excitement about the positive reception from travelers eager to explore North America and beyond. "We're excited to be further strengthening our Asia-Pacific footprint as we add sunny Queensland to our growing list of destinations," said Freig. This expansion, coupled with American's partnership with Qantas, aims to unlock the world further for customers, providing them with an extensive array of travel options.

Scheduled to be the longest nonstop flight in American Airlines' network, the seasonal service solidifies Brisbane Airport's global connectivity, marking its 30th direct international connection and establishing Brisbane's longest direct route. This service not only underscores Brisbane's appeal as a global destination but also opens new avenues for tourism and business opportunities for Queensland, enhancing export potentials to the USA.

Gert-Jan de Graaff, CEO of Brisbane Airport, highlighted the significance of American Airlines' market entry, acknowledging the enhanced travel options it brings to North, Central, and South America. "Our partnership with American Airlines supercharges Brisbane Airport’s position as an aviation hub," remarked de Graaff, pointing out Brisbane's emerging status as a key gateway to North America.

The collaborative efforts between American and Qantas continue to provide customers with one of the most comprehensive networks between North America and the Australia-New Zealand region. This partnership is set to deliver an expansive service network next winter, connecting major cities across both continents and offering access to over 200 destinations in the U.S. and nearly 70 destinations across Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific.

Queensland's Deputy Premier, Treasurer, and Minister for Trade and Investment, Cameron Dick, lauded the introduction of this new American Airlines service as a monumental achievement for Queensland's international tourism and trade sectors. Similarly, Tourism Minister Michael Healy highlighted the strategic significance of Brisbane's global brand, especially in the wake of its designation as an Olympic and Paralympic City, and the potential for increased exports facilitated by the additional freight capacity.

The launch of American Airlines' direct service from Brisbane to Dallas–Fort Worth is a testament to the enduring efforts to expand Queensland's international visitor economy and strengthen global trade and tourism links, demonstrating the profound impact of strategic aviation partnerships in the post-pandemic world.
